Hi there, I’m Nick Roberts, I am an accountant who has been working in public practice for the last 12 years.
I was an early adopter of Xero in 2007, and have been working with this platform (as well as other accounting systems since). I would like to use my expertise to help people with their use of Xero and other accounting software solutions.
For this blog post I am going to cover the Payroll function within Xero
Xero has a built in payroll function, which is very cost effective at $10 a month plus a $1 per employee after the first one.
Xero payroll is fully integrated with the xero platform and Xero payroll not only manages the tasks you have to do, it automatically updates your accounts too.
It is compliant with all IRD requirements including payday filing and PAYE, ACC, KiwiSaver and student loan calculations are automatically looked after for you. No need to install annual updates.
Employee pay made easy
Payroll provides tools for tracking working hours and approving leave with controlled access for employees.
Power to your people
Give your employees self-service access from any device with the Xero Me mobile app for iOS and Xero Me app for Android. Xero Me makes it easy for employees to view their payslips, submit their timesheets and apply for leave.
It includes the following features to make managing your payroll easier;
Flexible pay calendars
Choose how often employees are paid: weekly, monthly, fortnightly or twice a month.
Multiple pay rates
Pay employees who wear multiple hats different rates based on the work they perform each pay period.
Built-in timesheets
Employee hours seamlessly appear in pay runs for automated calculation and payment.
Manages employee leave
Track and manage employee entitlements for leave and enable employees to request online or from their phone.
Detailed payroll reports
Generate detailed reports for payroll history, bank transactions, payments, leave and more.
Reimbursement of expenses
Reimburse your employees for expenses at the same time as you run payroll.
Flexible pricing
What you pay depends on the number of employees you’re paying.
Collaborate on payroll
Invite your accountant, bookkeeper or other team members to view payroll information. You control their level of access.
I am now certified for Xero Payroll and can set this up as part of your Xero.
